"I identified a problem in the community and online as a whole, so I wanted to do my part to stop it."

Claire is a 20-year-old junior at Michigan State University studying broadcast journalism. She has always enjoyed volunteering and helping others but wanted to find her own outlet to volunteer in the community. To identify her effort, she thought of a problem she herself faces - the pressures of feeling "good enough," when growing up using social media. This is when she created Girls Lifted Up in 2019. where she aims to educate girls on healthy friendships, and the importance of empowering others.
